If you have never sold bulk before, this is the short version.

What is Pokémon bulk?

Bulk is the low-value majority of a collection: commons, uncommons, reverse holos and the ordinary rares that accumulate behind the cards you actually wanted. Individually they are worth too little to list. Sold by the thousand they are worth real money, which is what a buy list is for.

How much is Pokémon bulk worth?

It depends almost entirely on the mix. Commons and uncommons trade around twenty dollars per thousand cards, while modern ultra rares are priced individually and can be worth a dollar or two each. A well-filled large flat rate box of sorted commons is usually worth somewhere near a hundred and thirty dollars.

Do I have to sort it first?

Not if you do not want to. Sorted bulk pays more because the counting is faster at our end, but unsorted is bought at a flat rate per thousand with basic energy allowed in the box. Pick whichever is worth more to you: the higher rate, or the afternoon.

Is it worth selling bulk at all?

For a few hundred cards, usually not, because postage costs more than the cards earn. For a few thousand it generally is, and for a full box it clearly is. The calculator on this page settles it in about a minute, before you commit to anything.

Before you ship

Is the estimate what I get paid?

Not quite, and anyone who promises otherwise has not counted bulk. The estimate uses your numbers. We pay on ours, counted by hand against the same published rates on this page. Most submissions land close. The ones that do not are usually miscounts, not disagreements.

What if your count comes back lower than mine?

You see the breakdown by category before any money moves, so you can check our count against yours rather than take a single number on trust. If you would rather have the cards back than take the payment, you can have them back — return postage is yours, the same as it was on the way in. Count carefully before you ship and you will already know what the box is worth.

Who pays to ship the cards to you?

You do, both ways. Every shop that buys bulk works this way, and it is the reason the rates on this page are what they are rather than lower. Send it USPS — our intake address is a PO Box, so UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to it. A medium flat rate box holds around 4,200 cards and a large one around 6,500, so the postage per card is small once the box is full.

How long does it take?

We confirm your box arrived within one business day of it being delivered, and pay within two business days of that. If something is going to take longer we email you before the window is up, rather than after.

Can the rates change while my box is in the mail?

Not if you ship it in time. The rates are locked to your reference for 14 days, and your ship-by date is 7 days after you submit. Ship on or before that date and those rates are what we pay, however long the carrier takes — it is the postmark that counts, not the arrival. Miss it and current published rates apply, and we will tell you before paying rather than after.

Do I need an account?

No. Send your counts, ship the box, get paid. You will get a link to check where your submission is, and you can reply to any of our emails directly.

What happens to cards you will not buy?

We tell you what we found and what it was. If you want it back, send us a label and we will mail it back; otherwise we hold it for a while and then recycle it. Nothing is resold without your permission.
